Palehound performance on BIRN Alive

March 14, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm EDT

Ellen Kempner of Boston indie-rock band Palehound stopped by the BIRN’s studio on March 14 for a live performance and interview.

Palehound is the lo-fi indie rock project of the Boston-based singer-songwriter and guitarist. Palehound’s debut EP, Bent Nail, is a mix of grunge-folk and 90’s influenced indie. It gained enough attention for Kempner to decide to drop out of school and record her first full length album, Dry Food.

Palehound followed up with A Place I’ll Always Go in 2017, an album about love and loss.

In January of 2018, Palehound released YMCA Pool, which consists of two singles that didn’t fit onto a previous album. After touring with Bully, Alicia Bognanno offered to record with Kempner at her house in Nashville, and the songs were finally finished.

Palehound played at The Sinclair on March 16 with Oompa.

BIRN Alive is home to great live performances and insightful conversation every Saturday at 4:00 p.m. EDT on birn 1.
