Alondra Ladd is a singer, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, composer and educator, currently based out of Berklee College of Music. Born to a family of successful touring musicians in Mexico, Ladd began experimenting with the violin in middle school, and performed with The Newark Greater Youth Orchestra while in high school. She began writing and performing her own songs when she was 18 years old.

Currently, she leads her own reggae and latin-influenced 7-piece ensemble Miss Cactus and the Desert.

Elliot Taylor, BAERD & The Tree That Falls: Live from the Red Room, Saturday, July 22 at 7:00 pm on birnCORE

 

Elliot Taylor, who was named Sky TV’s best, unsigned live act, has a sound that is unrefined, soulful, and genuine. Taylor draws his lyrical inspiration from traveling the northern English countryside in his 1970 VW camper van, “Bessie.” He has also received BBC Radio 1 airplay and has been featured on several indie film soundtracks. Colombia le Canta a Boston with Joseito Oviedo: Live from the Red Room, Friday, Jul 21 at 7:00 pm on birnCORE

Hailing from the state of Arauca in the eastern plains of Colombia, singer-songwriter Joseito Oviedo gives a performance to celebrate Colombian independence. His music blends the virtuosic nature of traditional joropo music with a modern flare. Joining Oviedo for this very special occasion are current Berklee students Naty “Nativa” Hernández (vocals) and Juan Ruiz (clarinet), as well as Berklee alumna Esther Rojas (bass).

This performance is given in collaboration with the Boston Colombian Committee.

Based out of Providence, Rhode Island, Call Security is the 2017 winner of 95.5 WBRU’s Rock Hunt contest. They blend a variety of influences into a unique, dynamic sound, that treads the line between modern and vintage.
