In Studio Performance by Irish Songwriter David Keenan

Irish songwriter David Keenan stopped by BIRN Alive on June 13, in advance of his show at The Red Room at Cafe 939, for a performance that included the songs “A Corner Boys Lament” and “Lawrence of Arkadia.”

Keenan is “a young artist who uses his lyrics to paint pictures with words on canvases of silence, curating a body of work which is steeped in the poetic tradition of old but delivered in such a way that is entirely his own.” He is currently on a tour of the East Coast. His live shows have been described as visceral and spiritual and he advocates expression through all forms possible.

Clay Cook Live From the Red Room

Tune in tonight, Saturday, April 28th @ 8 PM EST for a live broadcast from The Red Room @ Cafe 939 featuring Clay Cook of Zac Brown Band.

Clay Cook has made a living in many ways in the music industry. An accomplished songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, he has recorded and toured with John Mayer, Sugarland, the Marshall Tucker Band, and Shawn Mullins.

His debut album, Unobstructed View, was recorded over three years in between touring with Zac Brown Band and at points Cook never thought the album would be completed. Overcoming all the obstacles thrown at him, he started to record one song at a time and eventually recorded, mixed, and mastered the eleven songs on the record.

He says, “It’s been a long road to make this record. There are a few pretty telling snapshots into my personal life — but that’s who I am and how I write. I’m very proud of the record that we all made.”
