Neil Hilborn is a College National Poetry Slam champion, and a 2011 graduate with honors from Macalester College with a degree in Creative Writing. Neil Hilborn is a bestselling author and, with over 150 million views to his credit, he is the most-watched poet ever. He has performed in 40 states and 8 countries, and in 2016 alone he traveled more than 100,000 miles to perform poetry. Originally from Houston, Texas, he now lives in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

Born in Bydgoszcz, Poland, Basia Galaj entered the world of music at a very young age. Taking an interest in piano at the age of six, she began taking private lessons and continued her classical piano studies in Missio Musica after moving to Warsaw. Not long after this, she began studying voice. She moved to the US in 2011. By her senior year of high school, she became dually enrolled as a student of the California Baptist University, performing with the University choir and continuing her piano and vocal studies. Ben Higginbotham is a recording artist, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist from Dallas, Texas. He is currently in his final semester at Berklee College of Music, and lives in Boston, but splits his time between New York and Nashville cowriting and gigging. He has played venues including The Bitter End in NYC, and The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, as well as countless venues in and around Boston.

This Week on BIRN Alive: Alondra Ladd, Saturday, July 29 at 4:00 pm on birn1

Alondra Ladd is a singer, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, composer and educator, currently based out of Berklee College of Music. Born to a family of successful touring musicians in Mexico, Ladd began experimenting with the violin in middle school, and performed with The Newark Greater Youth Orchestra while in high school. She began writing and performing her own songs when she was 18 years old.

Currently, she leads her own reggae and latin-influenced 7-piece ensemble Miss Cactus and the Desert.
