Sammy Brue plays BIRN Alive
February 11, 2020 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm EST

Tune in to BIRN1 on Tuesday, February 11 at 5:00 p.m. EST for a live set and interview featuring folk/americana artist Sammy Brue.
Described by Rolling Stone as an “Americana prodigy”, Utah based singer-songwriter Sammy Brue has been writing songs since the age of ten. Inspired by the realism of Woody Guthrie, Johnny Cash, and Bob Dylan, Brue found his definitive sound over the years–emotive lyrics paired with an acoustic guitar, eventually with the addition of bass, kick drum, and tambourine. A seasoned performer, he’s busked at the Sundance Film Festival, played the Newport Folk Festival, and has opened for Hayes Carll, Lydia Loveless, and Lucinda Williams among others. At fifteen, he went on to work with producers Ben Tanner (Alabama Shakes) and John Paul White (The Civil Wars) for his debut album I Am Nice. Brue is finishing up a new album with producer Iain Archer (James Bay, Snow Patrol), and just recently released his new single “Crash Test Kid”.
