Patrick Park and Brianna Nelson play Cafe 939
October 21 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm EDT
Tune in to birnCORE on Thursday, October 21 at 8:00 p.m. for a live broadcast from the Red Room @ Cafe 939 featuring Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Patrick Park with special guest Brianna Nelson.
Since his debut in 2003, Patrick Park has released seven records that beautifully encapsulate his musical and personal journey with effortless simplicity. For his latest release, Here/Gone, Park called for producer Rob Schnapf (Beck, Kurt Vile, Elliot Smith) for the first time since the 2007 record Everyone’s In Everyone. Together, the pair refined Park’s introspective folk songs to classic voice and guitar combinations highlighted with string arrangements by Bobby Halvorson.
Prior to the release of Here/Gone, Park took a 5-year hiatus from music after his 2014 tour to support Love Like Swords took a toll on him. During this time, he started writing songs for others but realized it didn’t give him the creative fulfillment he was looking for. Instead, he found reassurance in meditation and working as a counselor on the suicide hotline, inspiring him to write for himself again. Here/Gone is the product of Park’s self discovery, gaining him praise from Rolling Stone Country and Billboard on stand out songs Everything Falls Apart and Love Lover Love featuring Warpaint’s Emily Kokal.
Singer-songwriter, Brianna Nelson is a fresh new artist who has defined her own genre she calls Boho Pop. Nelson has performed across the Northeast in cities such as Boston, New York, and Philadelphia and was even cast for a blind audition on The Voice, Season 6. With the recent release of her debut single, Golden Silhouette, Brianna’s dazzling vocals and lyrics make it apparent that we will definitely be seeing more of her in the future.
The show starts at 8:00 p.m. EDT and you can stream it here.
