Jennifer Hartswick and Nick Cassarino Duo Live from the Red Room

Tune into birnCORE on Friday, October 12 at 8 p.m. for a duo performance by Jennifer Hartswick and Nick Cassarino live from the Red Room at Cafe 939.

Trumpet player and singer Jennifer Hartswick has been creating music with Nick Cassarino for almost two decades. The two are originally from Vermont and both currently reside in New York. Both have worked with many well-known artists in the past. Hartswick is an original member of the Trey Anastasio band, and has played with Herbie Hancock, Tom Petty, Carlos Santana, the Rolling Stones and Dave Matthews, to name a few. Cassarino has toured with rap icons such as Slick Rick and Big Daddy Kane. He is also currently a part of the touring group The Nth Power, along with Nikki Glaspie from Beyonce’s live band, and Nate Edgar from John Brown’s Body.

The two have decided to go on their first tour together as a duo this year. Hartswick recently released a solo LP, Nexus, on September 7, including her single “You Can’t Take it Back.” This 13 date tour for the album began on September 7, and Hartswick and Cassarino will appear together in eight states including Massachusetts. The tour will conclude at the Suwannee Hulaween Music Festival in Florida on October 28.
