Braxton Cook and Cisco Swank play Cafe 939
October 30, 2019 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm EDT

Tune in to birnCORE on Wednesday, October 30 at 8:00 p.m. for a live broadcast from the Red Room @ Cafe 939 featuring jazz saxophonist and singer-songwriter Braxton Cook perform the Red Room stage.
Named a “jazz marvel” by Fader in 2017, Braxton Cook is bringing a refreshing sound to contemporary jazz. During his first year at Juilliard, he became a long time member of Grammy-nominated trumpeter Christian Scott’s band, also touring with Christian McBride Big Band and Marquis Hill among others. Using these opportunities to further hone his craft, Cook began working on his music as a solo artist and released his debut EP Sketch in 2014, followed by his first album Somewhere in Between in 2017. His sophomore album No Doubt debuted at No. 2 on the iTunes jazz charts, and quickly surpassed 1 million streams within a month. Blending his brilliance in jazz with soul, R&B and alternative, Braxton Cook is carving his very own spot in today’s music scene.
Cisco Swank (also known as Francisco Haye) is a Brooklyn-based multi-instrumentalist, singer, rapper, and producer. Since learning piano and drums at 4 years old, Swank has built an impressive repertoire of songs and performed at Afropunk Music Festival, Rockwood Music Hall, Dizzy’s Club, and The Knitting Factory among others in New York.
The show starts at 8:00 p.m. EDT and you can stream it here.
