Boston Conservatory Chamber Series Live from Seully Hall

Tune in to birn1 on Thursday, April 30 at noon for an exclusive broadcast of the Boston Conservatory at Berklee Chamber Series, featuring the Berklee Indian Ensemble and Silkroad artists!
With the concert titled as “Which Classical Music?”, the inaugural Chamber series concert of the 2019-2020 season examines what “classical music” means in traditions from around the world- India, Ireland, and China- situating the music of Dvořák and Western classical music within a vast framework of diverse cultural practices.
This exciting evening of classical works features acclaimed Boston Conservatory at Berklee faculty members and guest performers, including the Berklee Indian Ensemble and Silkroad artists.
The pieces performed by the Berklee Indian Ensemble were Raju Vedale by Thyagaraja and Idhudhaano Thillai Sthalam by Gopalakrishna Bharathi, while the Silkroad artists interpreted three pieces of Chinese Classical music, including the United States premiere of Erasure by Sun Keting. Some selections of Celtic Classical music and Dvořák ‘s String Quartet No. 12, op. 96 (“American”) were also presented.
