NINA, LYM, and Garrison Evans Live from The Red Room

Tune in on Thursday, July 19 at 8:00 p.m. EDT to birnCORE for a live broadcast from the Red Room featuring NINA, LYM, and Garrison Evans.

Boston-based singer-songwriter NINA is an r&b/soul artist originally from Chicago and raised in Australia. She is influenced by Aretha Franklin, Beyonce, Joss Stone, and other artists similar to them. Nina has built herself quite a reputation in Australia after having many huge performance opportunities: Australia’s “School Spectacular,” The Voice – Australia, and the Netball World Cup Opening Ceremony. While she’s been in Boston she’s performed at popular venues like The Middle East, The Zuzu, and Club Bohemia. Her passion for music and her love for her audience are clearly expressive in her quirky performances and her honest, strong, and moving lyrics.

Jimmy Lim, aka LYM, is a Berklee student singer-songwriter based in Boston. Somber and peculiar, his voice and music capture a particular feeling that takes listeners to a different place. He fuses electric jazz and alternative music, giving his music a unique sound. Lim recently released his EP Hue right after that of his single “Wrong.”

Garrison Evans is a singer-songwriter who uses music as an outlet for his inner troubles and struggles. He particularly focuses on his depression, social anxiety, and sexuality, using his music as a support system. Garrison’s goal is to make sure that his listeners “know that they’re not alone in their experiences” so that they can “analyze the world around them and eventually find solace and catharsis.” Garrison is a left-of-center artist, combining all sorts of genres to create his own unique sound: indie-pop, ambient electronica, and alternative r&b. “He tells stories of emotional turmoil with his signature ambient production, gut-wrenching voice, and introspective sound.” His upcoming EP Innocence and Regrets will perfectly display his message and artist definition.
