On May 1st, 2018, Nano Stern, one of Chile’s top artists, visited the BIRN for an honest interview and lovely performance hosted by Songwriting /MP&E assistant professor Daniel Cantor. Also joining them was recent Berklee graduate/Chilean songwriter Nicolás Emden.
Nano‘s songwriting and artistry run deep with influences as wide as South American traditional music, modern Rock and Pop, Celtic and American Folk, Jazz, and Modern Instrumental music. Nano’s lyrics are frequently socially conscious, filled with metaphor and story.
Joan Baez said of him, “… best Chilean songwriter of his generation. With his lyrics, melody, message, delivery, humor and heart, he gets my vote.”
