Tune in to birnCORE on Tuesday, 2/5 at 8PM EST for a live broadcast from the Red Room @ Cafe 939 featuring some of the amazing roots performers here at Berklee.
The Roots Roadshow series, presented by the American Roots Music Program (ARMP), is a showcase that explores and celebrates America’s rich musical heritage.
Each month, we present a variety show of student bands and ensembles performing styles such as country blues, old-time, bluegrass, new acoustic, Celtic, classic country, Western swing, and more. Whether it is a faculty-led ensemble, new student project, or band making its name in the Boston scene, you never know what will happen at a Roots Roadshow. Come connect with the thriving roots community at Berklee College of Music and hear some of the college’s finest rising acoustic talent as we propel American roots music into the 21st century.
This roadshow will be a rare treat, featuring ARMP director Matt Glaser, acclaimed accordionist Sonny Barbato, guitarist Jon Wheatley, and Berklee alumna Brittany Karlson. Expect jazz tunes, Wheel Hoss quotes, Bach chorales, and who knows what else. An ARMP meet-and-greet and information session will follow.
Tune in tonight for a live broadcast of this event.
