Hailing from Lowell, Massachusetts, Sydney is a third-year student at Berklee College of Music. She is dual majoring in Songwriting and Professional Music (with concentrations in Performance, MP&E and Music Business). Sydney is unapologetically drawn to Pop music. She is fascinated by its role and impact in addressing current societal issues as well as its power to define and record the conflicts of past generations. She hopes to debunk the unjustified stigma often associated with the genre.

Pop music has never been more eclectic or diverse. Unfortunately, the term “pop music” invokes certain negative connotations. “Unapologetically Pop” aims to take a deep look into the relevance of popular music in today’s social and political culture, while also destigmatizing the genre as a whole.
