Already successful with her solo project, Liz Fohl teamed up with bassist Kyle Hovland and drummer Alex Stickels to form the Liz Fohl Trio. With roots at the acclaimed Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, the Trio delivers a fresh dose of Pop music for anyone willing to listen.

Currently, plans to hone an impressively tight set list and develop a wide audible palette have been found in a weeks worth of gigs in Nashville. Looking to the energy of a live show for the biggest promotion, the Trio works hard to develop an atmosphere that will draw many people together in celebration. The fan base in Boston is steadily growing with weekly gigs around the city. Networking through the melding pot of musicians at Berklee, Liz, Kyle and Alex found a common obsession. That obsession consisted mainly of grandiose endeavors beyond the walls of school and a commitment to a lifetime of professional music. Impressed with Liz’s grassroots accomplishments and marketability, Kyle and Alex quickly jumped on board to give her two self-produced albums a little more fire and soul. No recording yet from the Trio, but the updated versions of Liz’s old tunes take on a new, more energetic shape in the live venue.

This week we will be featuring the very talented Zarni de Wet. Zarni was born in South Africa and moved to America at age 11. She has played the piano since she was 6 and started voice lessons in middle school. In high school she was involved in the high school band, jazz band, choir, show choir and many musical theater productions. In 2007 she appeared on a local television series called Expressions where she played three of her original songs. She also played in the David Friend recital hall for the spring Storytellers. At Berklee she is double majoring in music education and songwriting. She is also teaching private piano lessons at the West End boys and girls club. Tune in to hear some of Zarni's great work!
