The Funnel Weaver
The Funnel Weaver: 2nd semester guitarist from western Colorado. I'm all about playing progressive music in any form. From the most progressive of bluegrass and fusion to a face-melting German death metal; I'm into innovation, creativity, and, most importantly: progression. So light some candles, grab a bottle of lotion, and join me on my show, "Can I Haz Progzorz?" on Friday nights from 7pm to 9pm and together we'll experience artists like King Crimson, The Faceless, or Buckethead in a new light.

It's unfortunate to no longer be working with DJ Nate Nasty anymore, but not much will be changing about the show. I'm very thankful that I got to work with him last semester: it was truly an honor. But the show must go on. The I'll be bringing you the regular segments as usual: the chepic (cheesy epic) and the BDMOTW (Brutal Death Metal of the Week) as well as tons and tons of new music that will be released in 2010. Not to say that the classics of progressive rock won't be aired. Don't be alarmed: They will be. On another note, the summer is looking rather good for interviews too.
I'll see you this Friday, May 28th for a very special show of "Can I Haz Progzorz?" featuring the debut of the Funnel Weaver on his own. Be prepared, lots of new music ahead including Cynic, Orphaned Land, The Ocean Collective, Izze, Sylvan, Avantasia, and Buckethead!

It's been a while....
So I'm posting this because it's certainly been a while since we've posted anything with actual information. "So what's going?" you may ask. Well, if you haven't been keeping up with us, DJ Bagel and I have been working hard on getting some interviews, and we sure as hell have gotten some good ones! We first interviewed Misha Mansoor of the band Periphery in Worcester, Ma.

After Misha's interview, we were stoked about getting to have a phone interview with Ty Tabor of the band King's X! He was a great guy and had a ton of interesting things to say.

I asked him a kooky question that really got him off guard. I'm sure he'll remember us for that.... lulz....
After that we got a surprise interview with Fernando Perdomo. We didn't exactly know who this guy was so we did some research and found out that this guy is a legit session guitar player down in Miami. He's played for Jennifer Lopez, Christian Castro, and Mika to name a few. Though he's played for a lot of mainstream, pop acts, Fernando is a HUGE prog-head. We had a lot of very interesting discussions with about what prog is, how it was developed, what is prog now and may other topics were discussed. We were also incredibly goofy which seems to be a staple for our show.

After that awesome interview we had another pretty sweet interview with Marcus Eaton. I know of Marcus Eaton because two years ago, my band at the time opened up for him over in Hartford. I got the chance to jam with him and i found out that he is one, very skilled guitarist. His style of music, I've often said, is sort of like a progressive John Mayer.

These interviews have been very great experiences for us and, rest assured, we plan to have many more interviews in these upcoming months. Also, all of these interviews that we had with these awesome guests will be made available as podcasts for your listening pleasure! Thanks for listening guys. You can always give shout outs and chit chat with us while we're on the air. We encourage it! Keep rockin'!
